Our Mission

The Edison C. Van Auken Memorial Foundation was created to honor Edison's memory and carry his legacy forward by supporting causes that reflect the things that brought meaning, creativity, and connection to his life.

The Foundation supports organizations and programs that foster imagination, storytelling, and community through the arts, including film, television, literature, board games, video games, and other forms of creative expression.

We also support efforts focused on addiction awareness, prevention, and recovery, with a belief in the power of creativity, connection, and community to bring people together and create hope.

Through charitable giving and grants to nonprofit organizations, we hope to celebrate Edison's life while helping others create, connect, heal, and thrive.
